The good thing about these natural acid reflux remedies is that they are as effective as any other medication that one can take. And since acid reflux is a very common condition, the knowledge of acid reflux remedies is thus very important. This is because one cannot be sure when they may experience an acid reflux. Acid reflux is not exactly the name of the complaint that most sufferers come up with. The major compliant of most sufferers is a feeling of hotness or a burning sensation around their chest. But this is caused by acid reflux and this burning sensation is called heartburn. This heartburn corresponds to the time of the acid reflux. Acid reflux occurs when there is a regurgitation of stomach content into the oesophagus. The problem with this is that the stomach content is highly acidic since they are involved in the breakdown of foods like protein. The oesophagus on the other hand, being mainly a passage way for foods is not modified to house such acidic content. So whenever there is a regurgitation of stomach content into the oesophagus, there is a resultant feeling of burning sensation around the chest; hence it is called heartburn which is the major symptom of acid reflux.

Most natural remedies for acid reflux disease try to relieve this heartburn. Because it is this unpleasant and discomforting symptom that makes acid reflux a constant complaint among sufferers. There are however very good acid reflux remedies. And herbal preparations like ginger root and Arise and Lavender tea are two very notable acid reflux remedies. They can also be easily gotten from any nutritional store.

There are also some foods that are good acid reflux remedies and they include; watermelon cantaloupe, celery, apple cider vinegar, figs, melons, parsley, mangoes, sweet grapes, sweet pears, vegetable juices, unsweetened fruit juices and pineapples.

Some of these fruits are naturally occurring acids but they are broken down to alkaline components which is very good for acid reflux. In general, these are very good acid reflux remedies for anyone that is experiencing acid reflux.

A timely hub indeed. Just spoke with a friend experiencing symptoms of acid reflux. Diet is extremely important. I could really see lots more potential in this hub if you extended it and did a little editing (may get more traffic) as lots of people experience the painful symptoms of acid reflux. Although, it is still good as is. Appreciate the knowledge of some foods which aid in relief of acid reflux symptoms.
